VENTURA is a film production company established in Belo Horizonte, Brazil, in 2016. Founded by Juliana Antunes, Laura Godoy and Marcella Jacques, the company focuses on projects by female directors, seeking to shine the spotlight on female-led works. Baronesa, by partner and film director Juliana Antunes, was Ventura’s first feature film, being selected for – and winning awards at – multiple relevant international film festivals, such as FIDMarseille (France), Havana Film Festival (Cuba), Valdivia International Film Festival (Chile), Indie Lisboa (Portugal), and Doc Montevideo (Uruguay), as well as enjoying commercial distribution in Brazilian cinemas through the distribution company Vitrine Filmes.
